Turning Point is a team and we welcome new members to the gang. Whether you want to perform or be behind the scenes, your skills and interest are what we are looking for. Many of our members switch roles and most get involved with all of our productions in one way or another. We like to look after everyone and regularly both socialise and come together for organised events, trips and days out. We also love a party - for whatever reason. We are all friends or relations who support and encourage each other to try new things and try our best. At Turning Point there is no committee, everyone's opinion is valid. Of course, final decisions have to be made, but we want to listen and take on board ideas from everyone.
We are a Community Theatre Group, not a Theatre Club or Amateur Dramatic Society. There is a just small annual membership and show fee and we cover performers and public liability insurance. So why not join us? Make new friends, create new memories and have the opportunity to be part of something really special. Contact us for more information or an informal chat.
ON STAGE AND SCREEN
We are blessed to have the opportunity to showcase some amazing talent here at TPP. We currently have players ranging in age from twelve to seventy-one and it is a joy for us to be party to them sharing their experiences and knowledge with each other. We aim to produce at least two Charity Concerts, a Supper Theatre and a Christmas Show each year and are always on the look out for new stars to show off. We generally rehearse twice a week for a couple of months prior to each show, with some extra rehearsals nearer the time. We have also been making short films for both ourselves and charities for the last six years and our company thoroughly enjoy the whole process. Take a look at the film we made earlier this year for the charity MIND - 'A Million Dreams'. We endeavour to incorporate Singing, Dancing and Acting, so if you're already experienced on the stage or ready for a new challenge, please get in touch.
BEHIND THE SCENES
If stepping up in front of the lights is not for you then why not join us behind the scenes. We have a brilliant Technical Team and Backstage Crew and there are jobs for all to get involved with. Sound, Lighting, Props, Costumes.... all these things are key to putting on a great show. Our team are happy to mentor in all of these departments and we are always on the look out for Show Runners to keep everything and everyone in check on show week. Besides the production crew we also have a brilliant Media Team. This includes publicity, photography and cinematography. These guys are so talented and creative so maybe you'd be interested in working alongside them or learning the ropes.
FRONT OF HOUSE
Our fabulous Front of House Team includes Catering and we are lucky enough to be able to provide homemade food at our Supper Theatres and Christmas Entertainment Shows. Are you interested in cooking? Perhaps you'd make a brilliant waitress? As well as catering, Front of House involves selling programmes and raffle tickets, showing our audiences to their seats and pointing them in all the right directions when it's showtime. We have our own bar 'STAGE DOOR', run by experienced, licensed tenders. From time to time we also need registered Chaperones to look after our younger performers back stage.
We believe in Turning Point as a theatre company and we know that friendship, teamwork and mutual respect encourages commitment and dedication to our team. Every new member is welcomed and for us, keeping such a happy gang is key to our successful productions. We enjoy spending time together so regular organised events are really popular. Whether it's a meal out, a trip to the Theatre or a Team Challenge Day we encourage everyone to join in. We like to keep the details of our Team Challenge Days a surprise, but they are designed to give members the chance to work collectively on creative challenges in new environments. One of our TCD was in France! Oh, and did we mention we love a party?

WHAT OUR TEAM HAS TO SAY
"Turning Point Productions isn't just a performing arts company it's a family. It's full of talented people who want to share their love of the arts with others"
MEGHAN -Performer and Team Member.
"Being involved with Turning Point during the past year has been amazing. It's been a real privilege to see shows grow from initial ideas to outstanding productions. I'm proud to be part of this group where there are no egos, just genuine talent and love for what they do and for each other"
LUCY - FOH/Crew and Team Member
"TPP is such a fun, positive and enjoyable company to work with, and as such, it is a privilege to be their Stage Manager, around so many incredible and talented people. Many months of rehearsals go into a production so come show week it takes a lot for the Director to hand it over to me to run. That show's how much trust and confidence TPP put into me"
DAVE - Stage Manager and Team Member
"Turning Point has been the most wonderful group to be a part of over the years, from making new friends to testing my comfort boundaries on the stage. The Director and Musical Director are so supportive and encouraging and with their help and trust I've even won some awards whilst working with them."
DALE - Choreographer/Performer and Honorary Life Member
